Ever dreamt of raising your own queens? Have you had a go with little success? This workshop is for you!

 

This workshop is designed for experienced beekeepers that want to learn a new skill or have more success raising queens.  This course is focused on reproductive biology of the honey bee and what we can do to influence this process.

 

We will cover: cell builder care, grafting and non grafting methods, cell handling, nuc making, and mating queens.

 

LOCATION: Warrenbayne Hall: 1305 Benalla-Warrenbayne Rd, Warrenbayne VIC 3670.  Just 20 minutes from Benalla Victoria

 

WHEN:

Friday March 15, 9:30-4:30

Saturday March 16, 9:30-4:00

Sunday March 17, 10:00-12:30

 

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is for people new to or struggling with raising queens.  Our December workshop will cover advanced topics such as bee genetics, working in large scale operations, drones, and breeding for Varroa Resistance.

 

This is a great opportunity to build resilience in your beekeeping operation by controlling timing and quality of your queens.

 

Prerequisite: Minimum three years beekeeping experience.  Strictly limited to 10 participants.
